Hi folks.
I'm having some issues when trying to remotely manage tape drives on my BE 16.
I actually have two drives ( LTO 4 and LTO 6) which are phisically attached to my BE server. I can only send remote commands through my ITDT when I'm not running BE services. Is there a way to load tape medias remotely through backup exec itself? When I need to load medias, I have to stop all services, losing my jobs which are not affected by tape drives.

Hello Larry, thanks for replying.
I didn't mean to change the media but insert it back again when BE ejects it by some reason.
for example: if my media is full but I set it as a scratchable media and want it to get inserted back again, I can remotely do it using ITDT.
I found out how but it doesn't works if BE media services are running :)
have a nice day.

I am a bit confused by your question. Normally, with stand-alone tpae drives, it is a human that changes tapes in the drives. If you want to automatically or remotely change tapes in the drives, then a robotic library is needed. ITDT cannot change tapes for you.
