Tape no longer listed under storage

I've started to experience this unusual event.  I run an inventory before my jobs for the weekend and the slots all show tapes in them.  During the course of the backup job Backup Exec will "lose" a tape.  It will show a tape slot as empty and the job will sit and wait.  If I run a scan it picks up the tape again and the job continues.  Has anyone else seen this?  I am running Backup Exec 2014 with SP 2 on a Windows 2008 R2 Server.

Haven't seen that before, but it could be a cosmetic issue.

Stop the BE services and open up the device manufacturer's diagnostic utility and run an Inventory against this.

You can also look at running tapeinst.exe again to install the Symantec drivers, or completely removing the drive from BE and then re-adding it.

Thanks!

Almost certainly is the issue discussed in the thear mention by Larry and therefore fixed with SP2 plus the fix in
