What is this alert for if we do not use barcodes? Will this halt a job until it is answered?

One thing that changed is we swapped out our Dell 122T Autoloader for another identical unit. We re-named everything on the new device to reflect the old device names. We deleted the old device, as it no longer worked and was physically removed.

Could this prompt a need for new drivers???

We never have had this alert before about bar codes. Wouldnt the same drivers work as they did before with the other device if the two devices are identical???

Also if we do not answer the prompt about the bar codes will the job hang. It's just a blue\information type alert...

Hi,

I'm recieving the same error as you are (see below) though this is with a Dell ML2000. We do not use barcodes in our environment and I want to disable barcode scanning to avoid this error in backup exec as it is driving me insaying...

Are there any settings within Backup Exec to disable this or do I need to do it from the tape library instead?
