Hi guys downloaded the trial version of BE2012. Installed a new server Windows server2008 R2 Enterprise, it is completely updated. Managed installation of BE. The audit showed that all is well and I found a typical installation. Then restart the server. Then tried to run the Backup Exec 2012, but the launch was not successful, restart the service does not help. The service "Backup Exec Server" does not start. The log error:
"The Backup Exec Server Service did not start. An internal error (-1) occurred in object51"
Screenshot in Russian: http://savepic.su/1514105.htm.
Any ideas?.

Sorry, From the debug, it looks like you are using a "Managed Server"(MMS) with a "Central Admin Server"(CAS). Let me know if this is not the case.
03-14-2012 01:39 AM
Hi,
Did you perhaps use a domain account with domain admin rights for the Backup Exec service account?
Any AV on that server perhaps blocking the services from running correctly, and if so, put in an exclusion and check again.
Thanks!

DId you tried rebooting the server ?
03-14-2012 01:52 AM
Hi!
Hello, yes I am using a domain administrator account to backup, at one stage of the installation BE I entered the account, and she was granted additional privileges.
In addition to Windows firewall on the computer any more which is not found, which couldblock the program, but it is off.
Thank you!
03-14-2012 01:53 AM
Yes, of course, immediately after the installation reboot the server, and then a few more times.
03-14-2012 03:54 AM
Any ideas!?!?!?! Please....
03-14-2012 04:01 AM
OK...so try uninstalling the application and then reinstalling it, and also check and make sure that the service account used isn't locked out.
03-14-2012 06:20 AM
Check if any liveupdate process such as lugetupdates.exe is running or not. If yes, end that process from the task mgr...
If running any AV, please ensure that the BE services are exempted from AV scans..
One other thing...did you choose the default SQL instance OR does this server also host SQL ?

Hi Ivan,
The server service is complaining about initializing your security configuration. Here is something you might want to try.
Stop all of the Backup Exec services.
Go into the Backup Exec install directory. This is usually in C:\program files\Symantec\Backup Exec.
From there, go into the \Data folder.
Here create a new folder called "Certs" or something like that, and MOVE all of your *.KEY and *.CRT files into this folder.
Verify that there are no longer any .KEY or .CRT files in the data folder, and restart your services.
Let me know if this allows the services to start. If not, we will need to enable debug logging to determine the cause.
Thanks
Nick

Hi
You can open command prompt & then go to backupexec location like C-program file -symantec-backupexec- & then type beserver -console & then please post the output of it here
Thanks

Is the SQL instance running under the local system account ?
Have you confirmed the BE service account has the necessary rights per http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH36718
Also, ensure there is no deny right as well...
One last thing, open BEUtility.exe from \Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\...Click on All Media Servers in the central pane...on the right side, right-click the media server name...choose change database access...enter the credentials & click grant access

Hello, yes MSSQL server running on a local account. After BEUtil granted access to the database BE account under which the work of the service BackupExec. Restarted theservice, but they are also not start.
1) I have a few ideas. I put BE in terminal mode, whether this could affect theinstallation??
2) Maybe worth a try to install BE2012 not in Windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1and the editors Standart!?!?

Hi Ivan,
Thanks for the output above. Can you please verify that your CAS services are online and running, and that you can map a network drive to the CAS (while logged as the account the BE services on the MMS are using) without being prompted for credentials? It seems like we are failing when trying to connect via RPC to the CAS during server startup.
Thanks,
NIck

What is CAS service?

Sorry, From the debug, it looks like you are using a "Managed Server"(MMS) with a "Central Admin Server"(CAS). Let me know if this is not the case.
