Greetings to all:

My backup failed with error: V-79-57344-34009 - There was an error processing the on tape catalogs. This error usually means there is not enough space on drive C. I have 50 GB free space on drive C: I have two external drives, the new drive backs up with no problem. I am not sure if it is software or hardware problem. Any adeas? Thank you in advance.

Hi there,

What is your BE vs?
Do you have last tape drives and symantec updates?
Is Removable Storage disabled?
The error happens on all tape catalogs?
How old are the tapes?
Do you have any errors running backups or restores?

If you backup only the old external drive, do you still have problems?  How much data is on each drive

Where does the %TEMP% variable point?  try putting the %TEMP% on a different drive than the \Catalogs folder

I am using Backup EXEC 11D service pack 4. I have tried to backup only on the old drive I still get the same error. Right now there is a backup job running, as soon as it finishes I will try to move the temp folder. Thank you for all your help.
