We are using BE 16 and want to upgrade to the latest BE 20.3. We have dedup option installed, and the dedup storage is about 5 TB in size. The Media Server is a Xeon E5-2620v4 with 64 GB RAM, the dedup storage is direct attached SAS-storage with 24 disks 300 GB SAS 10k.
Can someone estimate, how long it will take to convert the dedup storage to BE 20? Technical support can't help. They say, that there is no official benchmark.

From the BE 20 installation files -> BE\WinNT\Install\PDDEMigration execute
pddeobjectcount.exe -v
This is the same which gets executed when during the upgrade dedupe conversion estimates are shown on install page.

Thank you, this tool shows the attached... The time estimated seems relatively short for 5 TB, is this realistic?

there are certain conditions on which the tools output may not match the actual condition, so run the upgrade and check how much time it takes actually. It should be relatively quick. Post the upgrade, when the server is rebooted, conversion would start. You will receive alerts in BE informing you about the percentage conversion completion. You can also take a look at dedupfolder\log\convert to check on the progress of conversion.
