To Remote Agent or Not To Remote Agent... that is the question

... Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous documentation,
Or to post forums against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? ...

So, do I install "Remote Agents" on the same servers that I have application Keys for BE 2010?  (i.e. SQL 2008 R2, Exchange 2010, SharePoint 2007.)

You need to install remote agents on all the REMOTE servers/workstations you would like to backup.

However, You do not need to install the remote agent on the media server (the server which holds the application keys ), this will automatically get installed during the product installation.

To verify, open services on the media server and you will see backup exec remote agent service running.
