Unable to Catalogue 10d backups on newer server running 12.5

InfoStorm

Old server that was running Win 2003 was using Backup Exec v10d to backup to External drive.

Backup on Monday functioned w/o error.

Tuesday server suffered hardware failure.

Need to restore files into the new Win 2008 Server.
External drive attached and seen with no problem.

Added the external drive as "Removable Backup-to-disk Folder".
I can browse through devices and see all of the backup files that were made.
I ran an inventory the new backup-to-disk folder.  Success.
When I attempt to catalogue the contents, it has yet to be successful.
Currently the Job monitor continually alters between "Loading Media" and "Queued"

I know I have to catalogue the backup in order to restart onto the new server, but have been unsuccessful thus far.

Advice?

have you inventoried each individual BKF File?

I ran the inventory at the level of " Backup-to-Disk Folder 1 " not the individual file.

You're basically stating that I need to run an inventory on all 190 file individually?

I meant catalog each BKF file, sorry

http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/297427.htm  indicates that an inventory of the device, followed by a catalog on the BKF Files should do the trick

(Think of the B2D Device as an autoloader and each BKF file as a tape volume)

I WAS able to browse into the files and select the files I wanted to restore.
I started the job and its status would toggle between queued and loading media.
I canceled it after 2.5Hrs of this with 0 files read.

The error I found interesting was this one:
- Unable to acquire device for the specified pool and media

What is that actually trying to tell me?
How do I get past this?  I just need to get some files restored.

I followed the instructions for the 1st one and that has got the catalogs to start going.
This is what worked:
On the right-hand pane remove the check mark for "Use storage media-based catalogs."
We'll see once thats done if we can restore now.

Thanks!
