Did you mean:

Unable to acquire device for the specified pool and media. Invalid Physical Volume...

Hi all,

I have 6 servers in my backup exec, 5 of them is looking good.

But in one, unfortunately the most important, the duplicate task fails everyday. The error is below:

V-79-57344-33029 - Unable to acquire device for the specified pool and media

Final Error: 0xe0008105 - Invalid Physical Volume Library Drive Identifier

I already done the inventory and inventory+catalog for the last 2 tapes and no success. I discarded the possibility of error on the tape, because it works for the other 5 servers.

The source backup (from a storage) is there and working (I restored for test). So, I have no idea what I should do to solve this issue.

Anyone can help me?

Thanks

Not worked.

The only solution was: completely delete the job then re-create again.

Re: Unable to acquire device for the specified pool and media. Invalid Physical Volume...

Are you backing up the 6 servers to a single stand-alone tape drive?

Assuming the 6 servers are done via 6 different backup jobs, I would triiple check the device selections in the one failing job.  Maybe change the setting, save the job, then set it correctly again.
