Unable to add MS Share Point 2010 server in BE 2010

Hi,

I have following:-

1. MS Share Point Server 2010 on Widows 2008 R2 (64bit).

2. BE 2010 on Windows 2003 SP2 (32bit).

I have installed the remote agent in the share point server with no issue.(other then need to disabled the AV for accessing the drive).

In the BE 2010 console , when I am trying to add the Moss server, it gives the the below error:-

"An error was encountered while attempting to browse the contents of Server Farm.
Although the specified server is a SharePoint resource,Backup Exec cannot confirm the topology.
Review your sharepoint credentials and ensure services are running on the Web servers."

I have found a KB article given below, where it identifies an issue with the .net 2 and need to update a config and .net files. But our Windows server 2008 R2 have .net 4and I guess that they have solve this known issue with .net 2 in the new version of .net 4.

Is there any compatability issue.

Is it BE2010 or BE2010 R2? 

Only R2 and above supports Sharepoint 2010.

Hi,

I have downloaded the below DVD which says:-

Backup_Exec_2010_13.0_MP1_MultiPlatforms_Multilingual_DVD.

and the version inside the BE 2010 console is

Is this BE 2010 R2.

OR

I need to download the BE 2010 R2.

This is BE2010 only, R2 has built# 4164.

Instead of R2 download R3 which is the latest version of BE.

Hi,

I have installed BE 2010 R3 and I can now add the share point 2010 server.

I have taken the backup and successfully restored the object (a discussion thread).

I have a small query.

When I was selecting the farm for backup I was unable to see any particular thread or forms.

as when I went for restored I see the form and all threads, what this means.

Does this way BE 2010 takes and restore data in Share Point server?
