Unable to backup DC in another domain

Hi,

I am facing same issue. I am taking System State backup of Windows server 2012 R2

Windows server 2012 R2 is installed on different domian & Backup Exec media server is on different domain.

Error i am getting in job :

0xe0008488 - Access is denied.

Access Denied. Cannot backup directory  and its subdirectories.

I have diabled GRT option in job selection list & my job has completed successful, but with GRT option enabled it is failing.

Now i have enabled debug & waiting for debug log.

The two domain must trust one another and the BESA must be a domain admin of the other domain. You should also enable AOF in your job. Since you are dealing with Server 2012 R2, you need to be using BE 2014. Otherwise, you are using an unsupported configuration

I think you also have to run your BE 2014/15 media server on Windows 2012 R2 as well (in order to GRT process a 2012 R2 Active Directory Database) - although this should create a different error message.

Going back to your actual error message, does your job specify an actual domain administrator account for the DC being backed up, as a Backup Operator Account (or something else restricted) may not provide enough access.
