Unable to install Backup Exec 2010 Remote Agent on Server 2003 R2 x32 Standard

Hello,

I am unable to install Backup Exec 2010 Remote Agent on Server 2003 R2 x32 Standard.  I am able to select the options and the reporting server just fine.  Once I click install I get this error:  The install failed with an unexpected error: Cannot create a stable subkey under a volatile parent key.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a .net error. Please uninstall the .net framework if it is already installed and reboot the server and try the installation again. If that doesn't work then install the .net 3.5 sp2 first and then try to install the BE.

If the above workaround doesn't work, attempt a local install of the remote agent. I have a feeling, that this error is more related to the remote server's OS.
