We're performing DR testing and have the following setup:
- MMS hosting DEDUPE1
- CAS hosting DEDUPE2
Server A's backup is created on the MMS and data stored on DEDUPE1, a duplicate then copies data to DEDUPE2 on the CAS. Catalogs are replicated.
In a DR situation, MMS is lost and we have only the CAS and DEDUPE2 to restore from. We are able to perform SDR restore to a new VM of Server A from the CAS, however we are unable to perform an "online restore" of Server A to a new VM. The "online restore" point-in-time selection screen shows no available sets/times to restore from. Viewing Server A's sets on the CAS shows sets are available.
Why isn't an online restore possible but SDR is? Is there some data that we must copy manually from the MMS to allow an online restore?
