Upgading to BE 12D

1. We are installing a new ver 12D of BE onto a new server. Is it possible to migrate all the jobs, selections lists etc. from the old version 11D? If not, is that mean that i wont be able to restore anything from the jobs made by 11D?

2. We would you advice to keep the BE db, either on SQL express on the local sever or elsewere on SQL2005?

Please follow the steps in the technote below to migrate your data from Backup Exec 11d to Backup Exec 12.  Also, Use the local SQL express.  If you would add our DB to an existing SQL 2005 instance on another server, anytime we install or upgrade, if we stop SQL services it will stop your other Database.

Thank you for your answer. It is clear for me now that it is better to keep the BE DB on SQL express. But does this guide anything to do with the situation when migrating from SQL2005? It seems that it works only if you've had the old version on SQL express, doesn't it?
