Upgrade BE 2010 to BE 15. Any way to keep the history (logs)?

I am thinking on upgrading the BE 2010 to the latest verision available.

Is it possible to keep not only the catalogs, DB and jobs but also the job history?

Thank you

You will be able to retain everything if you perform an inplace upgrade from BE2010 to BE15.

Before upgrading do make a copy Data and Catalogs folder.

Also refer to the below article before upgrading to BE15.

Yes, I know about the data and catalogs, my question is related to the job history.

We need it for compliance purposes.

...it should retain everything that's contained in the BEDB...but grabbing a manual copy of the Data/Catalogs folders BEFORE doing the upgrade is always recommended.

I've done multiple upgrades in the past and never lost the history.

Thanks!

Job history will also be retained,

I thought the upgrade path goes through 2012 and the jobs will get modified (losing the history).

It seems I was wrong.

Thanks a lot

Direct upgrade from BE2010 to BE15 is possible. There is no need to go through BE2012.

Read the 2nd note from the above article.

Do make sure that you are on BE 2010 R3 SP4 because this is the minimum version required for direct upgrade to BE 15.  See the SCL below

You should also check the SCL and HCL below to make sure that the software and hardware that you want to use is supported.  There are quite a few things that BE 2010 support which are not supported with BE 15.

Since the BE 15 interface is quite different from BE 2010, I would suggest that you download BE 15 from the trialware section of www.backupexec.com, load it into a test machine and try it out before doing the upgrade.  Once you upgrade, there is no turning back to BE 2010.

Already did the upgrade, (2010 R2 to 2010 R3 to 15), everything went smooth, the jobs history is preserved.

The interface is fine, we're using BE 2014 on another site, it's quite similar.

Thank you.
