Upgrade BE 2010 to BE 2014

1) OS win-2003 32Bit Enterprise edition want to upgrade 2003 to Windows 2008 64 Bit Ent

2) BE 2010 with Media V-13.0 R-2896  want to upgrade BE 2014

Means of  end of support of microsoft win2k3  that why we are planning to upgrad windows as well as BE also on same server. server h/w support does 2008 only

You can either upgrade the OS first and then BE or you can upgrade BE first and then the OS.

Upgrading BE from 2010 to 2014 is fairly straightforward. Stop all BE services and copy the Data & Catalog folders. Start all BE services and run the BE 2014 installer. Follow the prompts. Once upgrade completes, run LiveUpdate to install the latest patches and then push the remote agents.

Lastly, usually an OS upgrade doesn't require any changes to BE, however in certain cases, you may need to reinstall BE. As a safe practice, keep a copy of the Data & Catalog folders prior to the OS upgrade.

I am suggest that you upgrade your OS first and then upgrade to BE 15, instead of BE 2014. Note that you need to upgrade your BE 2010 to R3 SP2 before you can upgrade to BE 15
