Upgrade BE-Agent after SP2 Installation " a must have " ?

Hello,

Simple Question

Do I have to update the agents inside of the VMware-VMs, after upgrade the Backup Exec Media Server 2012 to SP2 ??
Is this necessary or can I backup VM ( without GRT) with the old BE-Agent ?

You should upgrade the agent even if you are not doing GRT backups because the agent will be invoked, regardless of the type of backup.  Also, without the new agent, you will not get all the enhancements that comes with SP2.

But in case, there is no BE-Agent installed inside of the VM ??
At this Time, we dont need capturing GRT meta-data for VMware-Backups.

If you are not capturing GRT data or performing a non GRT backup you don`t need to install a remote agent inside the VM.
