Here is the background. We had a DDS4 tape drive fail 2 weeks ago with a hardware problem. We have another DAT72 drive in another server both running Backup Exec 11d. I'm trying to restore files from a tape made by the failed DDS4 drive using the DAT72 drive on the other server.
I can successfully inventory and catalog the tape and try to perform a restore from it, but the restore job fails saying that it can't count mount the media and that I need to first inventory it. It inventories fine, it pulls the name of the tape and the folder/file structure on it, but it won't restore.
Any clues?
