Hello,

 

I need suggestion with below errors, No change at BE or DC end at all by us:

Media Label: IMG005189
GRT backup set folder: P:\BEData\IMG005189
The consistency check of the snapshot for the Microsoft Active Directory, Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) or Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) database and transaction logs ntds was successful.
V-79-57344-33928 - Access Denied. Cannot backup directory  and its subdirectories.

BE 2012 updated to latest

backup to disk (ISCSI SAN)

AD GRT backups

Steps tried:

updated remote agent

rebooted DC

added backup account to domain controller security policy - "backup files and folders, act as batch job, create a token object,

You should deselect the p:\bedata directory. This is a disk storage and does not need to be backed up

...is the BE service account a Domain Admin? Otherwise is Advanced File Option turned on?

This is a very generic error. Check few things such as ~

1) The DC's disks or the destination disk should not be formatted with 4K sector.

2) The BESA should have rights as per http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH23689

3) Are you able to successfully run a non-GRT backup and a successful backup using the native Windows backup utility ?

p:\bedata directory - this is on backup exec server, one of the b2d location

 

DC only have C drive.

- Yes

- backup works if I uncheck AD GRT option

None of the disk has 4 k sector, but same backup to tape have worked.

BE server is win 2003, backup to local disk and SAN disk both fails.
