VM Backup issue with Backup Exec 16.0

Joe_RDI
Level 2

I have a storage pull of 4 hard drives, each one is 3TB.  The issue I'm running into is when I have running a VM backup of a machine.  If the process starts on a hard drive that with less space available to save the image, for example I have a 3.9TB VM trying to save to a hard drive with 2TB of space, the backup process doesn't automatically start on the next available hard drive with plenty of space available.  If I try the Agent backup method Full and Incremental backups are able to be split among hard drives.

The symptom of the problem with Virutal backups for me is if it starts to run out of space on the hard drive it is saving to, it simply gets stuck on Loading Media Backup.  My question is where is the problem?

Thank you,

Joe

You need to use BEMCLI to change the method by which the disk storage is selected from the pool.  See the section of the Admin Guide below

You can specify that the disk with the biggest free space be used first.  The default is "round-robin"
