Is the OS on the VM updated with SP2 ?

What errors are logged in the VM's event viewer and in the Hyper-V host's VMMS logs ?

Are the VSS writers in a stable state ?

Lastly, try these steps as well. If step 1 works, then no need to follow step 2.

1.       On the affected virtual machines;
a.       Edit Settings of the Server from the Hyper-V console
b.      Under Management > Integration Services uncheck the "Backup (volume checkpoint)" Select "Apply"
c.       Now that its unselected, reselect the option and select "Apply"
d.      Run the job

2.       On the affected virtual machines;
a.       Edit Settings of the Server from the Hyper-V console
b.      Under Management > Integration Services uncheck the "Backup (volume checkpoint)" Select "Apply"
c.       Run the job
d.      Once it completes, reselect the option and select "Apply"
e.      Run the job

Hi VJware,

Thanks for your help. The OS on the VM has been updated to 2003 server SP2 standard edition.

Every time to run the hyper-v backup, there will be error of Virtual Disk Service "Unexpected failure.Error code:C000000E@020A0007" or "Unexpected provider failure.Restarting the service may fix the problem. Error code: 8007001F@02000014" on host server.

No error on VM

FYI: The intergration service on the VM is not updated properly. please refer to screenshot. Shall I update the intergration service first? or only follow your step 1?

Sometimes we can backup successfully, but sometimes not with the error in previous post. But the Vitual Disk Service error on host always happend since the first day we upgraded BE2010 to BE15. No such problem in BE2010.

Thanks

Pls update the Hyper-V Integration Services first and retry the backup. This can also be the cause of the failure. If backup still fails post the services's update, then follow the above steps.
