VMWare Consolidated Backup (VCB) is not free!

According to Symantec's FAQ, VCB is free.  However, according to VMWare it is not.  We are using the free VMWare (ESXi) so we don't have VMWare Infrastructure or Virtual Center.  We can purchase VCB for around $2,000, otherwise Symantec's Agent for VMWare is basically useless.  Has anyone elses experience been different?

Thanks,

Richard

VMWare Consolidated Backup is free (at least I was able to download it without charge from VMWare's website).  You don't have to have VirtualCenter, but it would help when backing up several ESX hosts.  We have a few ESXi hosts here and use VCB with no problems.

VMware Consolidated Backup is free.  It is you that is mistaken.

ESX 3.5 Foundation
ESX 3.5 Standard
ESX 3.5 Enterprise

All of the above include VCB.

Generally speaking ESXI is not ESX 3.x .  ESXi is a crippled version of the pay for product.

Anywho...  If you want VCB, register to download a trial of ESX, and in the download links for ESX, look a few links down...
