This seems to be only when this external usb disk is connected. This one is used as B2D target.

This is fsutil output from this disk:

All tests are ok with b2dtest.exe with this drive. With other USB disks with 512 cluster size there is no problem.

Any idea how to get the backup to work with the 4K cluster USB disk?

Thanks for help,

Michael

If you can reformat the drive in 512 Emulation mode then this might work. Please bear in mind that whilst Backup Exec has problems with the 4K sector size, technically the limitation is that it is not supported by Micrsoft for Windows 2008 R2 and lower operating systems, full support from Microsoft is I believe in Windows 2012/Windows 8

BTW to do this reformat you have to use a tool from the hardware vendor, the format tool built into the operating system cannot do it.

Possible workaround would be to uncheck GRT if the 4K disk is to be used..or use another compatible disk... Or try backing up using the remote agent instead of the Hyper-v agent.. Looks like you are facing an issue with Hyper-V backups to this disk, then the environ is different from the other post (and the suggestion in that post may not apply here).

Hello VJware.

Thank you for your reply.

I will go for a different usb drive :)
