Verify operation is running slow, Can I cancel the job

Hi,

We have Backup Exec 2010 R3 backing up data to tape. Our last backup job has taken a very long time. It appears to be the 'verify' operation that is slowed down.

I need to cancel the job so I can continue with the rest of the jobs and figure out what is wrong with the 'verify' later.

If I cancel it, assuming the data was backed up correctly, I should still be able to recover data from the tapes correct?

i.e Will cancelling the job during the 'verify' stage cause any issues with recovering the data?

thanks in advance for the help.

Hi If I cancel it, assuming the data was backed up correctly, I should still be able to recover data from the tapes correct? Yes, you should be able to restore in most of the cases. Its always better to run a seperate verify job later on and uncheck verify from the backup if it is causing issue with time window,so that you can run it later on. Edited: Please check link below which shows, how to run seperate verify, http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH26849 Thanks

great!

thanks for the quick reply.

Next I'll need to figure out why it slowed out, but I can worry about that later.

thanks again.
