Very Frustrating - Stop writting after 300GB

I have backup Exec 11d, used to backup many servers remotely. Since a week the backup hangs when it reach around 320GB.. 

The following are the general settings:

Media Management is set to Partial (No prompt before overwritting)

The media set name is JCC - 1 hours overwrite protecting, 1 hour Append Protection

When this job begins:  Overwrite media 

Now, the job start and when it reach around 320 GB of writting data into the tape, it shows as the job running but the byte count stop counting and it stays for hours. I checked the alert and I noticed the following:

Overwriting allocated media 'End Of Month 8/2008'.

Media Overwrite Protection is configured to overwrite allocated media.

Please consult the online help for more information on allocated media.

If I click "OK" nothing happens!!! 

What is going on?

What I need is to be able to overwrite the media when the job starts (overwrite automatically).  The media is LTO3, and it should be able to write 800GB! so why is only accepting 300GB!!!

What kind of drive is it?  What kind of media?

If you re filling the tape up on s standalone drive there is not much you can do about it,

if this is a library, change the Global te Protection to Partial, no prompt, and set the media set OPP so that when you re-use tapes the Overwrite period has expired
