Virtual Machine Incremental Forever

Hi there,

Is this possible?

- Always backup my Virtual Machines as incremental (after the first full)

- Only keep historic data for some months (say 3 month); Backup Exec would create Synthetic Full combining the Previous Full + Incremental, and delete the older incrementals afterwards

- Duplicate the Full Virtual Machines to tape

As far as I understand, this should relate to "Synthetic Backups", but Backup Exec seems to not do it for Virtual Machines.

Nope.  This is not possible.  As you already know, synthetic backups do not work for VM's.
