Virtual Tape library shows offline

Hi,

Does Virtual Tape library requires Symantec tape drivers to be installed? Can any one suggest any document with that information? My VTL shows offline.

What kind of device to you have ?
Is it listed on the HCL of Backup Exec ?

Does the device show up in device manager ?
Did you restart the Backup Exec services, sometimes that resolves reconnecting to the device.

even though it is a VTL you should still be using Symantec drivers. As mentioned above please verify that the device is supported and that it is visible to the O.S.
