Vmware ESX Backup - Using RALUS

Hello All,

I have setup of BE 12.5  which is working fine.

I have just installed ESX server and also have installed RALUS agent on the same. But I am not able to backup that server.

I have
- Installed RALUS agent
- Added root credentials to BE server

Even after doing this I am not getting selection list

but ESX is reachable from  BE server. I have also added host file entry in the ESX server and BE server for being on the safer side, but neither helped :(

Anyone faced this issue before / have the solution for the same ??

I had faced the same issue in past while adding the ESX selection for backup.

Follow below mentioned steps to resolve the same.

On ESX Server -
1. Open your VI client and login to ESX server

2. On the right pane, select the Configuration tab

3. Click on the Security Profile link

4. On the Security Profile page, click on the Properties link in front of Firewall

5.
In the Firewall Properties window, scroll down to the bottom of the list

6. Check the Symantec Backup Exec Agent

7.
Click Ok to save and close Firewall Properties (refer to below screenshot)

On BE Server -
1.
Open the BE console

2. Go to Tools > Options

3. On the Options page go to Network and Securities

4. Enable the option Enable remote agent TCP dynamic port range

5.
Enter the value as 10000 - 10200 ( Refer to below mentioned screenshot)
