Hi,

I installed the Vmware agent and ran a backup job. The job failed with the error code 0xe000959a. So i uninstalled the vmware tools and ran the job it completed sccessfully. Then i reinstalled the vmware tools and excluded the sync drivers but the job failed. Note that on the other machines i have the vmware tools installed and the jobs are completing successfully.

How can i solve this issue?

Regards

You have tagged the post with the OS as Windows 8.

As of now Backup Exec does not support Windows 8 OS.

...what version of VMware are you using? What version of BE 2010 Rx are you using?

Thanks!

EDIT: Here are a couple of TNs to check out:

Hi,

I already checked this article.

The BEVSS provider and the Vmware tools should not be installed at the same time. So can i uninstall the BEVSS provider instead of uninstalling the Vmware tools?

Is that possible?

Thanks

You should be using the BE VSS provider. Install VMTools then the BE remote agent. This will install the BE VSS provider properly. Each time you update VMTools you should push out the remote agent again to re-install the BE VSS provider
