Hi all,
Our organisation owns a Volume License for 3 TB. When installing BE2015 it askes how many TB to install the BE Server with.
Can I split this i.e. 1TB licenseing applied to three BE servers in three site locations?
Thanks in advance,

The licensg guide ( http://static.symanteccloud.com/estore/resources/en/be-2015-licensing-guide.pdf ) states
Our capacity offerings include unlimited deployment of Backup Exec server, agents and/or options, provided your front-end terabytes does not exceed the volume of data (in TB) specified by your license.
As this in effect states unlimited Backup Exec Servers, yes you can split the license (in 1TB chunks) - although be aware that you would need to make sure (manually) thay you do not exceed what you have purchased as the servers will not contact each other to confirm total installed (even in a CASO setup as I tested that recently.)
It is however a good question which I will try to add to thie FAQ list http://www.veritas.com/docs/000025717

Thank you gents,
I do not want to run CASO the idea came to me while rolling out the 3TB license at my head office. So I thought to myself could I buy another 5 TB and split that up accross 5 site offices located all over the country. From your replies it seems this is indeed allowed and possible which is great!
One last thing...I used the "BE Capacity Assesment Tool" to define how many TBs I required in terms of buying the license at our HQ.
The assessment tool counts every single byte of data on the servers you asses, presumably because the reccomended method of backup is SDR backups which are FULL backups. In reality however I only backup the file shares on our file servers as space on the B2D locations comes at a premium.
Is \ should I base the licensing requirement on the total byte count on all the production servers in my backup strategy or the total byte count of the "selection lists" of all the active jobs on my BE server?
