Backup Exec 10.x will definitely NOT support Exchange 2007, so I think you tagged the forum post incorrectly.

...you obviously need a Remote Agent for Windows Servers (RAWS) installed on the other Exchange server, and this needs to be licensed!

Note that the other server needs to run Exchange 2007.  This is a Microsoft limitation, not BE.

If i recall correctly, in this scenario, the remote agent needs to be present on the target server but not licensed. (Since the target server is not being backed up).
