What do I need to have installed to backup my Iomega StorCenter Pro NAS 200rl

I have an Iomega StorCenter Pro NAS 200rl and I need to back it up.  There are a couple of shares on it for Unix.  I see the mounts though the Unix Sun Solaris server. I have the Unix agent installed and the Unix server gets backed up. I can expand the mount through BE 12.5 and see all the files but it doesn't back the files up.  This NAS is not very sophisticated, I don't think I can use NDMP.  Any suggestions?

First, you need to have a RALUS serial installed on the media server

Then, if you can install software on it you need the RALUS running on the NAS

IF not you need to create a "user defined share"  pointing to the NAS

You should then be able to directly backup the NAS

I can't install anything on the NAS.  It has a very stripped down Linux OS.  I do have RALUS installed on the Unix server that uses the NAS from one of it's mounts.  I will try the User Defined Share option pointing directly to the NAS IP address.

Just tried that an it's says I cannot connect.  it seems to be looking for a Remote Agent - which I cannot install on that NAS.  Any more suggestions?

you didn't mention a RALUS serial installed on the media server

if you do have one, I'm out if suggestions.

Unless one of the Symantec Employees jumps in, I think you are probably down to opening an Incident with Symantec
