What is best way to restore files/folders after server crashed and rebuilt?

Have been using Backup Exec 2010 for 9 years to do daily backups to removable disk (rotating 6 disks). Old Raid 5 server had total crash (multiple drives).

So, rebuilt server including drives (using mirroring this time) and installed original Windows Server 2008 R2. Installed Backup Exec 2010, but doesn't recognize backup drive, let alone the backup files. Windows Explorer does allow me to browe the backup drive.

I am somewhat technical but not an expert. What am I doing wrong? Any help/pointers would be appreciated.

Hi,

Couple of things to do here:

1. If your drive isn't recognised by BE but it is by Windows, then you're OK. If it isnt recognised by Windows, you need to troubleshoot that first. What Windows sees, BE sees.

2. If you don't have backups of the Data/Catalogs folders, you will need to connect those HDDs and then run a Catalog of the B2Ds. This will add the details back into the BEDB.

Thanks!
