What type of server, we need to add in Backup Exec to back up a file server?
Windows server.
What is the difference between server types "Microsoft Windows computers and servers" and "File server"?
File server is the role or functionality which can be performed by a Windows server.
What type of license (agent) to use for each type of server?
To backup a file server you need to install Remote Agent for windows on the File server and the
respective license key on the media server.

Hi,
I suspect the file server refers to a NAS, or a server running something like Windows Storage Server.
You can add the file server in as a normal server, and you'd need a Remote Agent for Windows Servers to back up the server in question. Push-install the agent to the file server from your backup server.
THanks!

If it is just a Windows server with some shares, you need one RAWS (Remote Agent for Windows Servers) license.
