When will Redhat Linux EXT4 and XFS file system backups be supported?

I was wondering when Symantec will support the EXT4 and XFS Redhat Linux files system backups?

We need to use one of these file systems for SAS and would like to know when our current backup vendor for our UNIX systems will support those files systems EXT4 & XFS will be supported by Symantec.

Thanks

Moving this thread to the BE forum for greater visibility.

Symantec will NOT publically state roadmap items on a public forum.  Best you can do is ask in the "ideas," section and pray, or move to NetBackup or the like...

Now, supportability and actually working are something you can see for yourself.  Install the RALUS agent and see what happens when you backup, and especially restore data...  It may just work?  It's just a supportability issue, not a technical one in many cases.  Like supporting CentOS...

I'm not sure that support of those File Systems is something that Symantec has to program

As long as the RALUS will install, the OS itself does all the local file access, right?
