Hi,

I found 2 files available to download from Symantec.

  • Backup_Exec_15_14.2.1180_MultiPlatforms_Multilingual
  • Backup_Exec_15_14.2_FP1_MultiPlatforms_Multilingual

Which one should be downloaded and install ?

Thanks

Download the second file, i.e. Backup_Exec_15_14.2_FP1_MultiPlatforms_Multilingual

The second file includes the latest update FP1, whereas the first file does not.

This is a stupid behavour. Instead of downloading the FP1 alone, there is no other possibility, to download the complete installation package of about 1,9 GB!!!!! in the download center! And this only for upgrade of the remote administration console! This is NOT user friendly! I am seriosely thinking about, to put this rubbish into the paper basket, and change to an other vendor of backup solutions!

1 of the files is plain, vanilla BE 15, while the other has FP1 slipstreamed into it.

Not sure why you say this is stupid behaviour. You have the option of the following:

1. Downloading BE 15 with FP1 installed (1.9GB);

2. Using LiveUpdate to download FP1 and install it;

3. Download FL1 manually (360MB) and install it as per the link below:

https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH228725.html?

I'd say those 3 options are pretty user-friendly and cater for different means to install it.

Thanks!
