Why is ralus trying to use IPv6

sbudhdeo
Level 3

Having an issue with ralus on a new server.. havent had issues with other Linux servers.  For some reason, it seems ralus is trying to use IPv6 however IPv6 is disabled on the system. Below is the log from running beremote.  From Backup Exec, connecting to the server works but using the root account doesnt.  Telnet to port 10000 from BE to the host works.  The system has a LVM with ext3 partitions.  Any ideas?

Looks to be, I was using this package RALUS_RMALS_RAMS-5204.4.tar.gz.  I uninstalled it and went to RALUS_RMALS_RAMS-4164.5.tar.gz and I can see the host from BE.

run all as root or you can sudo everything below)
- in /etc/sysconfig/network you need to add

NETWORKING_IPV6=no

- in /etc/modprobe.conf add:

alias ipv6 off
alias net-pf-10 off

- make sure IPTablesv6 is disabled at startup

/sbin/chkconfig ip6tables off

After all of that, give your network a restart

/etc/init.d/network restart

Thanks for the reply, I had tried that as well and got the same result:

Unfortunately CentOS does not appear in the BE2010 Software compatibility list.

Refer to http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH137682

May be the compatibility is the actual problem.
