Thanks for your suggestion. I installed Version 9.1 on Friday, but I am still getting the same error message. I look in the Services MMC and see that the MSSQL Database is running, so I am not sure what it is not finding.
I checked the knowledgebase as you suggested and found http://support.veritas.com/docs/274102 particularly helpful. After I detached and reattached the database, I was able to get into the UI and confirm my jobs.
