Windows Server Granular Restore UEFI to Legacy Bios System

potblack2win

Hi Guys,

In my production enviroment I have back up at Windows Server 2016 server using (C:\ and System State) and this systems OS was built using UEFI Boot without secure boot

I would like to restore it to another system in our test enviroment that has Server 2016 build on Legacy Mode Bios.

Would the restore still work or does UEFI have to match up on test system?

similar hardware configuration?

Yes - The backup was taken on a Intel based HP Proliant DL380 Gen 10 server.

The restore server is a Intel based HP Proliant DL 380 Gen 9 server

Both servers support UEFI bios

Did you enable SDR in the job? You can add Gen 9 driver to SDRbootable Disk.

If same type of BIOS, it should be okay.
