This probably sounds ridiculous, but is there some way to use a Google Drive File Stream account with Backup Exec for directly storing backup data?
As a school district, Google for Education gives us 100 TB of storage for free across all user accounts.
We are currently paying about US $250 a month to AWS to store about 15 TB worth of backup data.
... apparently if I could use Google Drive to store backup data, then our monthly costs are reduced to zero.
The main downside here is "all your eggs in one basket" in the google domain, making the administrative account a hacking target that demands ridiculous protection like a 64-character random password.
