Xenserver 6.2 Support

Hallo zusammen

Symantec Backup Exec 2014 hat in der SCL den XenServer 6.2 wieder mit aufgenommen.

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/library/BUSINESS/xCL/TECH217478/be_2014_scl.html#agent_operating_system_compatibility-agent_for_linux_compatibility-citrix

kann mir einer sagen, worauf sich der Support beläuft?

Wird es möglich sein VMs vom XenSerer 6.2 zu sichern?

I have spoken directly with Symantec.

XenServer support amounts to only the hypervisor itself.
Licenses are per VM.
No V-Ray license usable.

Thanks for all the answers

You can backup the Xen server VM but you will not be able to do GRT restores

OK

I can backup VMs. Can I backup the VMs in online state?

Whitch License is need?

To backup application GRT I can use the Windows Agent into the VM.

Include the licens from the XenServer agent  the  agents into the Windows VM?

1. Yes 2. You would need the VMware or Hyper-V license for the host to backup the VM. 3. No. You need to load RALUS into the VM 4. The hypervisor agent license entitles you to load AWS/RALUS on to any number of VM hosted on the licensed host. There is no specific agent to backup Xen Server. If you need to restore individual files/folders, you might want to backup the VM as a physical machine.

I have make a test installation.

How can I backup the VMs?

I have install the RALUS on the XenServer. But I can't see the VMs.

Are you trying to back them up as VM's or as physical machines? If it is the former, then select them from the host. If it is the latter, make sure that the remote agent is running and that it is publishing correctly to the media server

I woud backup the VMs from the XenServer.

The Backupserver see only the folder of the Linux. Where are the VMs?

The Xen Server is treated as a Linux machine. It is not treated as a hypervisor.

There is no way because there is no hypervisor support for Xen Server

Install the agent and do a traditional agent backup.

You need to find out where on the server, the virtual disks for the VM's are kept and backup these files. Before you do the backup, you probably need to shutdown the VM's so that they are backup in a consistent stage

in the XenServer VM files are not visible in the file system.
My first questions were therefore:
- In the SCL of BE2014 XenServer 6.2 is listed.
   what relates to this support?
   VMs can be backed up?
   which license is required?
