auto eject tape(s) after full backup

Hi all,

regarding: trend micro worry free antivirusSymantec Backup Exec 2010

Hi there,

this is quite an urgent call for help ;)

At the moment, backup exec runs smoothly. But I'm not so happy about the running (standard) job. At the moment, a different number of tapes are inside the HP storageworks thing.

What I need is a job that, after each weekend, does a full backup and then ejects the drives. Is that possible?

Thanks

Yes, "eject" is the term used with a standalone tape drive. With an autoloader you export the tapes using a mailslot or import/export slot (those are different things for the same thing).

You'll need to have your backup job (it sounds like you only have one job) configured using a policy. You can then add an Export Media template to the end of your policy, so once the job's finished the tape will be moved to the export slot, from where the user can remove it.

Hi,

You've got to configure a mailslot in your autoloader, and then use that to export too after the job finishes.

thanks!
