when i click on the the backup exec setting tab i get this error and upon closing it i get the second error

Hi,
try a repair of the console. Also make sure you've installed this on a supported operating system
Check the BE 2014 SCL below:

Run a repair of Backup Exec either using the installation DVD or from the control panel - programs & features.
If running an AV, set it to exclude from scanning BE processes.
Is there any error logged in the event viewer ? If yes, can you post that ?

That's supported, so try the repair as I mentioned first and see if this fixes it.

Backup the database and catalog.
Do a new install and restore the directory.
