backup sql server 2016 sp1 on BE15

we have a backup media server on windows server 2012 DC, we have a backup account to backup AD, DFRS, Files..., all are OK. when we want to create a job to backup sql server 2016, the backup account can't access sql server 2016 instances. BE windows agent was installed on server, all BE 15 updates installed, sql server 2016 sp1 was installed, the sql server version is 13.0.4206.0. is the BE15 not support sql server 2016 with SP1?

According to the BE 15 SCL below, SQL 2016 SP1 is not supported:

It is supported in BE 16 though:

Did you manage to get SQL 2016 SP1 and Backup Exec 15 working in the end, or just have to accept it wasn't a supported combination?

There's a difference between "supported" and "will work even though not supported", and just wondering if I can get this combination working without having to upgrade to BE16 at this point.

The difference between "supported" and "will work even though not supported" is not whether you can get this combination working without having to upgrade to BE16 at this point.  The difference is whether you can get help from Veritas when you need to restore some information from a seemingly good backup and the restore fails.
