backup to disk keeps creating new media instead of overwriting the existing media!

Hello,

I use the backup to disk feature in backup exec 12.
Multiple backup-to-disk devices are created on the same NAS.
Now every time a backup to one of this devices starts, BE creates a new media on that device instead of overwriting the existing media.
Overwrite is selected in the job configuration.
There is no overwrite protection, nor an append protection specified (both "0 days").

Any idea as to what I'm overlooking here?

Are you set to "Overwrite recyclable media contained in the targeted set before overwriting scratch media" (bit of a long shot but worth a try)

Also are these backups IMG/GRT backups or just standard BKF backups?

Do you have a device pool configured for the devcies on the NAS that teh job use as a target - as it mght round robin if you do and therefore create new ones. (again a long shot)
