Operating System : windows server 2012 R2 Backup Exec Version : 15 Exchange server Version : 2013 Problem : when trying to restore a mail item it give me this Error Error: Cannot open one or more mail messages because of unknown exchange web service errors

Are you trying to restore to the same version of Exchange as when the mailbox was backed up? Why don't you load Outlook on the media server and restore the mailbox as a .pst on the media server?

Try a redirected restore to a PST (requires a support 32bit of Outlook installed somewhere where an Agent for Windows  is installed). If this works it is probably some kind of authentication issue (Group Policy blocking etc) aginst accessing the EWS/IIS com[ponents on the Exchange server (which are only used during a restore and not during a backup.

Note: Of cours if the redirect to PST works then if you currently need an e-mail back urgently you will be able to get it.
