cleanning Tape fail

Good Day

I have symantec Backup Exec 12.5 , the backup was not working now four days , I have in machine clean in orange , I try to clean but give this message :

Cleaning drive failed .

can someone help , I will be thankful

How did you clean it, did you put a cleaning tape into the drive ?

Could You Post the error you get.

Also You could try using a different Cleaning Media??!!

Hi epsone,

If you've run the cleaning tape and still get the cleaning error light on the drive, it's 1 of 2 things:

1. Your cleaning tape has been used the maximum # of times and isn't doing the job anymore...

2. The drive is faulty and it is a hardware issue.

Download your drive manufacturer's diagnostic utility and run it against the drive to rule out hardware errors.

yes i have alredy the cleaning tape

Do you see any error messages related to hardware in the Windows event viewer.

Event Id's like 7,9,11 and 13 are generated when there is an issue with the hardware.
