Hi! Didnt find information about comparing  backup speed BackUp Exec and NetBackUp. Is there any information?

From my personal experience: With a single stream, there won't be much difference between both. But with multistreaming and multiplexing enabled in NetBackup, backup throughputs will be much higher when compared with backup exec and Resources will be utilized much better.

Doesn't make a sense to compare backup exec and netbackpup speed as these are different softwares and cater different enviroemts.

In many cases out of the box, NBU is SLOWER than BE.  However once you start to follow the NBU tuning guide, start multistreaming, NBU can start using all available bandwidth, write to tape faster, and overall perform better.

But NBU is an ugly dog ;)
