could not attach to device

Using Backup Exec 8.6 on an NT 4 server I backup a Win 2000 server.
When I try to access it from a Win 2000 server (test machine for upgrade), using the exact same credentials I cannot get access.
Could not attach. May already be logged in with a different user. I reset the pw file but still nothing.
Any suggestions??

You can get this error if you have any shares mapped to the target server or are attached to any printers on the server.

No shares mapped and no printers attached (I assume you mean from the Backup Exec server machine). The one that works is from BE on NT server to 2000 server (target). The one that's not is from BE on 2000 server to 2000 server(target). Again, the same credentials are used to connect.

This was in preparation for an upgrade test so I upgraded to 9.0. Now it works (don't ask me)
