Hi All,
I am getting the below error and jobs are getting missed.
"e000e020 - The job was scheduled to run, but the availability window closed before the job could start. There may not have been any destination devices available during the window, or the job may have been submitted to run when the window was closed."
Can anyone help me what are the basic reason for this ?

Have you checked below article.

If the backup jobs are configured to overwrite than you have to make sure that there are sufficient
ovewritable (scratch media) tapes in the library. Also when the job spanns across multiple tapes
than 2nd tape onwards BE will request for an overwritable media.

Just for info against the article referenced by AmolB, Backup Exec 2014 should handle cause A and C better than BE 2010.
A) because the job start time window can be longer than 24 hours in BE 2014
C) because DST changes are handled better with the new scheduler process that are part of BE 2014.
There is actually a 4th reason that is not mentioned in the article quoted by AmolB
In BE 2010 R3 and earlier, you could have an availability window on the selection list and a start window in the job definition. If these two windows did not match then again you will get missed jobs. Fix for this is make the windows match (or again move to BE 2014 as there is no way to have the two time windows in BE 2014.) As an aside the DST issue is actually related to this, as DST changes were only automatically applied to one of the two time windows, causing a mismatch of the two time windows.
Finally issue B) in the quoted article is caused by human error or lack of understanding of media handling so will be seen in all BE versions.

Hi Amol,
Ya I checked the link but still want to know if this problem is due to schedule template or the tape drive issue as I see two jobs queued in job monitor from past 30 hours.
Kindly help

Check the alerts reported by BE for the queued jobs.

Hi,
This seems that the the library needs overwritable media.
Thanks for the solution
